Blocking a lost/stolen smartcard

Blocking of a smartcard is a new function of the Automated Fare Collection System.

Anonymous smartcards cannot be blocked and the period and/or tickets credited in them are non-refundable!

The stored period of validity left on a blocked card is not lost; instead it is transferred to the new card which will be issued to you after the lost one has been blocked. In this way you don’t lose the money you have paid to top up the card!

When a card is blocked, its number is included in the Blocked Cards List, stored in the system server, and in all vehicles and the readers of the conductors. A card in this list cannot be validated and will be recognized by the validators, conductors and the outlet staff as invalid. Any such card will be confiscated and its holder may be subject to a fine.

LOST OR STOLEN CARD CAN BE BOCKED!

This does not let anyone else travel with your lost or stolen card.

The period of validity or trips stored in the card are not lost. They will be transferred to the new card which will be issued to you after the lost one has been blocked. Thus you don’t lose the money you have paid to top up the card!

In order to block the card, its owner must submit an application for blocking in the outlets at 1 Vazrazhdane Square or 86 Maria Luiza Blvd. Upon submission of the application, the holder must present a proper ID to avoid any abuse of the system by blocking valid cards.
