Contactless Smartcard

During fare collection direct contact with the validator is not required. It is enough for the card to be at 1-2cm or to touch the validator for 1-2 seconds without moving. The integrated chip ensures a high level of data security. The life of a card in standard use is approximately 5-8 years.
Conditions for storage and use of smartcards. The card must not be exposed for prolonged periods to extreme temperatures (below -10°C and above 40°C) and variable or static electric or magnetic fields beyond the normal limits. The card must not be bent, broken, resized or have its surface damaged mechanically or in any other way. It is recommended to carry the card in a holder and take it out as necessary.
Operation of the smartcard.
During operation the smartcard will be:
-
loaded with new information (validity period and/or trips) and transport rights (personal data of the cardholder and concessions);
-
used for fare collection at the validators in trams and trolleybuses;
-
verified by the devices of conductors or by the card holder at the validators;
- blocked in the automated system if necessary (fraud, lost or stolen card). A blocked card cannot be topped up!
