Disabled parking

Following a decision of Sofia Municipal Council and by order of the mayor of Sofia Municipality, a certain number of fixed and signed parking spaces for vehicles transporting disabled people have been provided in public streets, squares and car parks, owned by the municipality, which are within the limits of the Blue Zone Scheme for paid short-stay parking.

The parking spaces are indicated by a road sign (D21 Disabled) and with thickly-painted road marking, displaying the international “Disabled” sign.

The holders of disabled parking permits have cards that serve as personal identification and certify their right to preferential parking in Sofia Municipality. The cards are issued, reissued, activated, revoked and controlled by the Parking and Mobility Department at the municipal company – Urban Mobility Centre – in the manner and under the conditions set by the order of the mayor of Sofia Municipality.
